4M, a startup in the hospitality sector, faced a significant challenge in establishing a clear identity for its diverse offerings. A coherent narrative needed to be created to avoid confusion amongst customers regarding the nature of the business. Is 4M a restaurant, a market, a co-working hub, an event venue, a living space, or something else altogether?
Venue by 4M
A restaurant, café, market, event space, and co-working hub all under one roof.
830 Henry St
A fully-furnished co-living space with short-term and long-term stay options.
Additionally, there was a lack of understanding about 4M's "15-minute community" concept as well as it's strategic partnership with May Mobility's Autonomous Shuttle ride service.
Southtown
4M's planed mixed-use fully electrified building built in downtown Ann Arbor.
May Mobility
4M offers complimentary community shuttle services with May.
Fun fact! I initially served as a host at Venue, where I made it a point to actively learn about 4M during my downtime. Recognizing my dedication, the founding team invited me to strategic meetings, where I played a role in shaping the business.
To craft a compelling narrative for 4M's offerings, a virtual tour format was chosen. In order for this tour to be the most impactful, an evaluation was conducted with the founding team to identify the most high-yielding components of their business. Events emerged as providing the greatest ROI and thus took the forefront in the virtual tour. This was complemented by other lucrative conversions such as stay rentals and restaurant reservations, that contribute to overall profitability.
To optimize conversion rates while clarifying the core of what 4M is, a flow was devised for creating the virtual tour, specifying the placement of videos and conversion buttons in each section. Initially, separate flows were crafted for Venue by 4M and 4M Stays.
An initial version of what would eventually evolve into the virtual tour for Venue was constructed on Notion. This version was primarily developed to assist the production company in comprehending 4M's offerings and determining the videos that would need to be created.
As a liaison between 4M and the production company, I adeptly communicated needs and constraints. We made enhancements from the initial MVP, maintaining direct communication with the Tour's President of Product throughout. Improvements included Matterport/3D Scans, promotion of May Mobility, and more. The final first iteration virtual tour production is displayed below.
